Why are you organizing this Challenge?
We celebrating our 15th anniversary by launching the ‘SignalGeneriX Innovation Challenge’. The aim of the challenge is to support new and aspiring entrepreneurs, working either as individuals or as teams, in further developing their ideas and commercializing their products / services with the support of our team.
What is the value for your applicants?
Our aim is to give real value to the winner by offering an excellent package of services, goods and cash, needed for the establishment of their startup and development of their product. We don’t just offer a short-term award but we are looking for long term engagement and support to the winning team which will extend beyond the duration of the project. SignalGeneriX is committed through its engagement in the venture to secure the successful commercialisation of the winning team’s product.
SignalGeneriX will provide the following investment for up to 30% equity in the new start-up:
• All legal costs for new company formation
• 12 months incubation at the SignalGeneriX Innovation Hub in Limassol
• Full access and usage of the company’s state-of-the-art facilities such as the R&D and Rapid Prototyping infrastructure
• Full cost of materials, components and goods needed for product prototyping
• Unlimited usage of SignalGeneriX hardware and software development resources
• Mentoring and coaching by internationally acknowledged professional
• We will offer a full range of product development, validation, manufacturing and business development services.
Is it an incubation or acceleration program?
Through the innovation challenge we scout the most innovative ideas and projects. We will test your product/service prototype, validate its technical and business potential and develop the business jointly. Once selected, we will draw up a cooperation agreement with the winning team which will receive full support from our dedicated team to develop and commercialise their product.
How does a team or an individual person can apply?
The application process is very easy: just click on the ‘Apply Now’ button and follow the process through the F6S platform.
What is the deadline for applications?
Online applications close on Tuesday 15th of September 2020, at 23.59 hours CET. This will be the last day you can submit your project via the f6s.

What is the evaluation procedure?
The evaluation will be performed by a committee of external expert professionals and SignalGeneriX management, aiming to select the best project that can create significant technological and social impact at an international level. The procedure is as follows:
- Stage 1: An evaluation committee will select the five most prominent applications which will be given the opportunity to present their ideas during a Demo Day.
- Stage 2: A Judges Panel will evaluate the pitches and make the final selection of the winner(s) of the Challenge.
Can we skip F6S registration and send our application directly?
No, all applications should be submitted through the F6S platform.
Who can see my application?
Only SignalGeneriX authorized personnel and the competition judges
Can I submit my entry in my native language?
The submission language is English
What will happen during the Demo Day?
The selected teams will be asked to pitch their idea and demonstrate their product/service prototype to an international panel of judges.

At SignalGeneriX we celebrating our 15th anniversary by launching the ‘SignalGeneriX Innovation Challenge’. The aim of the challenge is to support new and aspiring entrepreneurs, working either as individuals or as teams, in further developing their ideas and commercializing their products / services with the support of SignalGeneriX.
The Challenge is under the Auspices of the Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation of Cyprus and is powered by MAP Innovation.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for the most advanced projects working at the edge of the following technologies. Applicants must be able to prove that their ideas have been developed at a Technology Readiness Level 3 or 4 and will be expected present a prototype/demo/proof-of-concept of their solutions if shortlisted.

COMMUNICATION OF RESULTS OF STAGE 1
The annoncement of reuslts of the first round of evaluations will be announced to the applicants. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a workshop, in order to prepare for the final selection phase.

PREPARATION WORKSHOP FOR SHORTLISTED APPLICANTS
During the workshop, the shortlisted applicants will receive information on the final evaluation process and further details as to the expectations of the organizers.
13 Nov. 2020
DEMO DAY AND SELECTION OF WINNER
The Demo Day will be a closed event, whereby the shortlisted applicants will present their idea, including a demo, in front of a selection committee. Immediately after the pitches, the selection committee will deliberate and decide on the winning entrepreneur(s).
